What is the MCX timing?
MCX trades Monday to Friday. Bullion, energy (including crude oil and natural gas) and base metals trade from 9:00 am to 11:55 pm IST between 2 November 2026 and 14 March 2027, and from 9:00 am to 11:30 pm IST for the rest of the year. Most agricultural commodities trade from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm; cotton, cotton oil and kapas until 9:00 pm.
What time does MCX close today?
MCX's evening session closes at 11:55 pm IST while US clocks are on standard time (early November to mid-March) and at 11:30 pm IST while they are on daylight time. The live card at the top of this page shows today's closing time and any holiday.
Why does the MCX closing time change in November and March?
MCX keeps its evening session open while the main US commodity markets trade. When US clocks go back in November, those markets open and close an hour later in India, so MCX closes later (11:55 pm instead of 11:30 pm); in March it moves back.
What is the crude oil market timing on MCX?
Crude oil and natural gas trade in MCX's non-agri hours: 9:00 am to 11:55 pm IST in the US winter and 9:00 am to 11:30 pm IST in the US summer, Monday to Friday.
What is the COMEX gold and NYMEX crude oil timing in India?
COMEX (gold, silver, copper) and NYMEX (crude oil, natural gas) futures trade on CME Globex almost 24 hours: from Monday 4:30 am IST to Saturday 3:30 am IST in the US winter, with a daily one-hour break at 3:30 am – 4:30 am IST. In the US summer everything is an hour earlier (Monday 3:30 am to Saturday 2:30 am, break 2:30 am – 3:30 am). MCX's evening session follows these markets, which is why its closing time changes with US clocks.
Is MCX open on Saturday and Sunday?
No. MCX is closed on weekends. The exception is a special session announced by the exchange, such as Muhurat trading on Diwali, which can fall on a weekend (Sunday 8 November 2026).
Is MCX open on stock market holidays?
Often only partly. On most NSE holidays MCX closes its morning session but opens the evening session from 5:00 pm. On national holidays such as Republic Day, Gandhi Jayanti and Christmas it is closed all day. The table on this page lists each 2026 date.
What are the MCX Muhurat trading timings in 2026?
MCX holds Muhurat trading on Sunday 8 November 2026: a special session from 2:05 pm to 2:19 pm, then trading from 2:20 pm to 3:30 pm IST (MCX circular MCX/TRD/590/2026).
